Homes in Highland Park

Homes in Highland Park are deemed to be some of the most coveted in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. The town is a particular favorite among families, who love it for its close-knit community, excellent public schools and family-oriented services and facilities.

Highland Park has a total area of 2.2 square miles and a population that’s estimated to be no more than 10,000 people. It’s still a small town by definition, though it has amenities that most small towns can only dream of. Highland Park Real Estate and residents of homes in Highland Park enjoy the advantages that being surrounded by Dallas brings. Here shopping and dining is upscale and sophisticated and the expansive Dallas Arts District is mere minutes away.

Incorporated in 1913, Highland Park’s roots go back further to the closing decades of the 19th century when investors from Philadelphia bought the land where homes in Highland Park now stand. The land wasn’t developed until 1906, however, when John Armstrong purchased a portion of it and proceeded to make a vision called Highland Park come true. He hired the talents of Wilbur David Cook, the planner of Beverly Hills, and George E. Kessler, who’d planned the majority of downtown Dallas. By the time the 20th century was well under way, Highland Park was also on its way towards becoming one of the most prestigious addresses in the Dallas region.
