Preston Hollow Homes

The neighborhood of Preston Hollow gets its name from Preston Road, which runs in a north-south direction through the center of the community. This historic road was the main immigration route into the northern Texas area and it’s older than the city itself. A few Preston Hollow homes were built in the mid-1800s, but few, if any, have survived.

Preston Hollow Real Estate as we know it today is the product of a vision by pioneering developers such as Ira P. DeLoache who already saw the beautiful bucolic area’s potential back in the early 20th century. What was once farmland would eventually become the site of stately Preston Hollow homes, now some of the most valuable real estate in all of Texas.

Much of that pastoral charm remains, however. Many Preston Hollow homes are set in an expansive, manicured landscape dominated by towering, mature trees. Preston Hollow is green and shady, with wide streets and hardly any sidewalks. Quite a few Preston Hollow homes have private entrances, with the homes themselves secluded from the street. Other Preston Hollow homes, particularly the newer ones, have zero-lot lines. So whether you want a bigger yard or more living space, you’ll find what you need in Preston Hollow.

As one of Dallas’ most prestigious neighborhoods, Preston Hollow has been home to a number of the state and the country’s most prominent individuals and families. Some famous figures who’ve hung their hats in Preston Hollow are President George W. Bush and his family, Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, cosmetics queen Mary Kay Ash, billionaire Ross Perot and Dallas Stars captain Mike Modano.
