The past several years have seen the rise of Turtle Creek condos and townhomes. High-rises along Turtle Creek Boulevard and other surrounding areas have now integrated themselves into the neighborhood’s landscape, adding an exciting urban edge to the area’s atmosphere.
Not all Turtle Creek condos are new developments, however. Quite a few high-rises have been around since the ‘50s when folks from North Dallas’ prestigious neighborhoods decided that they wanted to be closer to Downtown. Today, the trend is towards luxury Turtle Creek condos, fitted out with all the modern amenities and more often than not located along Turtle Creek Boulevard and the nearer to Uptown McKinney Avenue.
The combination of high-rise living in a lush, green setting that also has excellent shopping, dining and entertainment options is one that most find hard to resist. It’s no wonder Turtle Creek homes have been sought-after for decades.
When you look beyond Turtle Creek’s high-rises, however, you’ll find yourself pleasantly surprised with the rest that the neighborhood has to offer. There are a number of hidden enclaves tucked away in Turtle Creek and its surrounding areas that are ideal for those who desire a little more privacy.
Nestled along the Creek and the Katy Trail, a recreational footpath, are secluded neighborhoods, many of which feature historic homes built in the first decades of the 20th century. Mixed among them are newer homes with sleek, contemporary designs that blend into the surrounding landscape.
